Samantha Kagan
I bring over 10 years of experience as both in-house and external counsel, offering a practical, business-oriented approach to employment law that balances legal risk with real-world workplace dynamics. Throughout my career, I’ve advised organizations across a wide range of industries, from large public companies to small, family-run businesses, gaining insight into the diverse challenges employers face. My focus is on helping clients navigate complex workplace issues with informed judgment and strategic direction, delivering legal solutions that mitigate risk while supporting long-term organizational growth.
I am a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Pennsylvania School of Law. I began my legal career at Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP (now HSF Kramer), where I spent nine years advising clients on a broad spectrum of employment matters. I later transitioned to Compass, a fast-growing technology-driven real estate company, as in-house counsel.
During my time at Compass, I quickly progressed from Senior Counsel to Associate General Counsel, and ultimately stepped into a leadership role in the final months of my tenure, guiding the Employment Legal Team through key legal challenges while supporting the company’s growth.
As the Managing Partner of Employment Legal Solutions PLLC, I serve as a trusted advisor to executives, business leaders, and HR professionals. By partnering with employers, I deliver strategic, solutions-oriented employment law counsel throughout the full employee lifecycle. My services range from day-to-day legal guidance to project-based support such as internal investigations, workplace trainings, worker classification audits, and the development of compliant and practical workplace policies. Additionally, I offer fractional employment counsel services for clients seeking ongoing employment law support tailored to their culture and business objectives.
Employment Legal Solutions was created to combine big-firm and in-house expertise with the personal attention, flexibility, and practical support of a boutique practice. This approach allows me to bring a balanced, client-focused perspective to employment law, helping clients resolve challenges and develop strategies that last.
